Whatever

Your eyes shine upon me

when I’m covered in the mud 

You raised me from the bottle, 

Immersed me in your love 


Your hand guides me, 

sometimes with a gentle nudge 

Other times you bind me, 

hold me close when I’m not enough 


Whatever it is I’m doing

Dreaming of Heaven 

or just hopes down here

When I recognize it

You are always

Standing right here


Skies over Alabama

Misty mornings in the northwest

The taste of ocean’s breath

or Georgia Pines

I know I can rest

You help the little boy
