Take Away

Take away the music

Take away the crowds

Let your spirit dwell

In the silence

That roars as loud

As any song we give you

In the stillness you behold

Our hearts without distraction

Take us in your arms and hold

The truth within our beings

Even when that truth really sucks

You still stand there whispering

“Child, I am enough

Not because you’re worthy

I don’t even need you to be clean

I need you to just open your heart

And leave the rest to me”

Take away the grand cathedrals

And the buildings made of stone

And come to the maker

Come and be known

The offering we bring

Doesn’t come from money or noise

It comes from the heart

Where in his peace, we can find joy
