Some - All of Us

Some struggle with the bottle

Others struggle with the lie

That they can never be free

Of the hurts that terrorize

Some seek forgiveness

Others hide away their sin

Oftentimes spend their lives

Fighting battles they’ll never win

Takes a second

To lose sight of all we are

Filled with the pain

Of a thousand little scars

Some think a needle

And a high will ease the pain

Until they’ve lost it all

All their hopes flushed down the drain

I’ve lost some

To the disease within the mind

Heard the news

And tearfully asked God

“Why?”

I know -

I am one of those

Hell, We all are fighting

To be heard,

To be seen,

To be known…

Surrender

Is More Than Giving Up

True Surrender

Is Falling Down

And Looking Up

“There Is More!”

I’ll keep shouting

At the top of my lungs

Please hold on

You’re not finished

The battle isn’t done

One day that bottle

Will finally be put away

One day that needle

Will have no power to sway

One day the victory

Will be within your sight

One day hope will overcome the night

And There will be no more fight…

And you’ll be alive

Surrounded by the light.

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
