To Be Still

When you’re restless…

“Be still and know 

that I am God

My hand holds the mysteries 

of the stars

The moon pales in the glow

Of all I am

Of all I’ll show

If you listen

Take each breath

Find those moments 

When you rest 

In me you are complete

Lay your burdens

At my feet

I rise above the 

mountain’s highest peak

The windsong worships 

from the steep

But I am also 

in the rain

That washes over your heart 

sore with pain

So many times 

I slipped away

From the crowds, the noise

Simply to pray

And I am here

When you don’t understand

All the world is telling you,

Laying out ‘it’s plan’

I whisper

‘I am here’

When the path ahead 

isn’t clear

Be still

And know

I alone

Hold…

The universe in my hand

At the same time

I will hold you close

I understand.

So be still

Rest

Is what you need.

In me.
