small
I know I am small
Amidst the wonder of it all
Life,
Your creation
Towers around me
It’s easy to fall
Into the pit
Of my own fears
How can You truly
want to hear?
With all the majestic wonders
I stand isolated
in my tears
Thinking
“Why would you draw near?”
Then Your small whisper
tells my soul
“Be still…
Know my spirit surrounds you,
Warming you from the chill”
I feel when I’m afraid
Trying to make
my own way
When You beckon me
over and over
Urging me
to wait
Upon You.
I trudge through.
You watch,
beside me
Waiting for me
to turn to You
And see
the mighty trees
As they adorn their
springtime leaves
Early buds open
to praise Your majesty
The whole earth rejoice
With the noise
of birds and bees in chorus
Lifting up each voice
And as I’m here
I’m still so small
But isn’t that the
wonder of it all
That You remember
Each moment
And wait on me
to call
To You.
