Prayer, as Bluebirds Sing

Lord, open my eyes

Help me to see

Each and every bluebird

flit about in those old oak trees

Lord, open my ears

To know your sweet voice

In the whisper of the wind

As the world runs, let me focus

On you

Lord, help me to be

Open and inviting

Like the sun warms

My tear stained cheeks

For I am amazed

At the way

You continue to

Lean my way

Lord, take the words

That come out of my mouth

Cover them with your spirit

So they never cloud

What you’d have me say

And even when I curse

You whisper -

“I love you, anyway”

Lord, take my heart

continue to water it with all you are

So I can keep growing

Reaching out to where you are

And then laugh

When I keep reaching towards the skies

As I remember

You are right by my side

In every step

As I keep

Looking to you

And looking at my feet

One step at a time

Thank you for finding

And loving me!

Lord, help me to breathe…
