Let Me Be Still
Let me be still
with you
Subtle moments
As I sit, quietly renew
My body weary
My strength faded away
Help me to seek you,
to stop and simply pray
Ask the daytime
to open up my eyes
As you bring morning
to full light
Please help me
not rush to
‘make each moment count’
What am I really striving for?
You are where my hope is found
And as the daytime fades,
gives way to dusk
Sitting quietly
renew my heartfelt trust
Watching starlight,
seeing a firefly cross the night
Give me your spirit
as I stop, close my eyes
And pray -
Be still with me
Today.
