Hope Remains

When tired and lonely

When the bitter wind

Won’t stop blowing

And you need a friend

Try to remember

No matter the day

That through the valley

Hope remains

As the night falls

And tears roll

When the dark seems to hide the way

Through the valley

Hope remains

Hope remains

In the opening

Of a baby’s outstretched arms

So young and innocent

As you protect them from all harm

Hope remains

In the mother

Who still wants the very best

For her children, her family

Quietly praying her request

Her hope remains

For the Father

Who’s fighting

to see his little boy and girl

Tired from every obstacle

Always seems to move uphill

He prays

For hope to remain.

And for the child

Of the streets

Who fears the night and hides away

Looking for Hope amidst the drugs and sex

may seem the furthest thing…

But I pray

Her hope remains.
