Old Oak Tree
Stand like the Oak
Breaking the horizon
Finding our Hope
In each breath realizing
The world spins
So out of our control
And we just have to
Let our roots take hold
Rooted in beliefs
Found deeper than the wind
Planted as a single seed
That’s where our hope begins
Not in a world that screams
“This is what you need”
While trying to bend us
And bring us to our knees…
Rise with the light
Standing still over the forest
Each day of our lives
A chance to quiet the noise
That echoes against
The truth we know to be
Our Hope, our Faith
Found in the stirrings
That we see
In an old Oak Tree.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Romans 12:2 NASB1995
