Small

Often seem so small

Under the big blue sky

And I am,

As I try to count the clouds that climb


If the universe 

Is as big as my eyes can see

I’d never be able to understand 

how you could love me


Yet, it’s bigger (the universe)

Just like you

And I stand frozen

Not knowing what to do


How do you hear me

Above the wind’s mighty voice?

When dark clouds settle

And I feel so alone?


How can I fathom

All that you are?

When I am such a feeble creature

Yes, I am just a man


Day breaks

Just like my heart

When I feel I’ve lost my way


But you pursue me

I still don’t understand why

I am nothing in the bigger scope

And as tears roll from my eyes


All I have

Even when I feel so small

Is knowing, just maybe

After all…
