…with hesitant anticipation
Ever wonder
What makes the sun shine?
Is it a big ball of gas
Parading across the sky?
And in that wonder
Do we stop
And realize?
That God is present
In each ray of light
His hands provide
But as the sun
Will fade
Set in the west
He never strays
Feel the cooling
Of early autumn breath
Filling up my chest
Leaves turn to paint
The view
My soul relents
The days change
Just like my fears
The mourning of my past
Almost disappears
And I realize
There is hope
Beyond the skies
What will come?
Will the fall allow for
Longings
Once thought done
To reappear?
As my spirit breathes
In wonders
Now so clear…
Never thought
I’d make it to a day
When my heart
Would grow
Beyond the grave
And say…
(With hesitant anticipation)
I am here.
