Among the Evergreens

Oh, I just wanna be

Out among the evergreens

Stars beholding

Nightsong sings

Stirring spirit

Longs to be

Where my lungs fill,

Breathe

And dream

Decked with tinsel

Lights and string

The luster lacks

What nature brings

Illumination

Poured out so loud

Do we forget

The simple vow

That was made

In the midst of

This illusion

Do we still see

The way?

Told under a starless night

Well, one star brightly

Shined its light

On a miracle,

A humble birth

That would go on

To change the world

And the symphony

That sang

Above the quiet

To proclaim

How a silent night

Could pale

The glow of modern lights

And change the world

So when I take

Deepest breath

My soul looking

For its rest

I find it out

As if I could be

Under the same sky

That once proclaimed

To the night

Among the trees

Under the sky

I breathe.
