Escaping the Dark
Fearing the dark
Our sinful days
Brought us to ruin
Yet, we stayed
in places made of
Darkness and of stone
There -
We were always so alone
Then light shined
Blinding as we drew near
We didn’t understand
We’d lived so long
With out any clear
Direction
Our path seemed straight
Until the light shone
And showed us
The way
And the dawning
Of our hearts
Into a world we’d
Never known
Walking toward redemption
Never again alone
All that fear
Though it may
Rear its ugly head
Can simply ‘Go to hell!’
That’s where it
Will find itself
In the end
And the light shines
And we still reckon
With its might
On cold, cloudy mornings
It keeps shining bright
From deep inside
Where we like to hide…
It now resides.

“Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan— The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”
Isaiah 9:1-2 NIV
