Draw Me In

You Love me in the mornings

When my soul, barely awake

Restless in my core

Feel my body shake

I am lonely

But I know I’m not alone

Often wonder

What it’s like to feel ‘home’

Tears stream down

In these emotions

I almost drown

Somber

Without a reason

The world would understand

Just the weight I carry

Burden I have to lay down

Each day I wake

I hope for it to ease

And many days

He gives that gift to me

But I wrestle

I fight

My spirit

Knows my life

Depends on breath

From the only place

That brings rest…

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
