We are not alone

In the struggle

No one gets to where we are

Without the fears and the fumbles

Of life lived

Without some scars

Some run deep like a river

Swelling when it rains

Others sit in silence

But the hurt remains


But we’re not alone

No, we’re never alone


Days when the thunder

Pounds deafening in our chest

When the storms keep on pounding

And our spirits struggle to find rest

There is peace

Even if we can’t see

It will find us

When we stop and breathe


And others find it flowing

They’ve been to where we are

They know the depths,

They’ve walked along 

where many feet have trod 


And the light we can’t see

In those moments

Still brings peace

When we stop

When we breathe


And know

We’re not alone…
