Intimately Aware

I am so intimately aware

How small I am

Standing here

I am nothing without the breath

That comes from my God,

and nowhere else

I know what it takes to stand against the wind

But I’ve also floated in the hurricane

The one I dove right in

I know where my strength comes

And I know it’s not from me

It’s from the maker of the universe

In that I fully believe

And when I’m down,

I still try to fight back

When I’m weary and I’m tired,

and feel so under attack

I still seek the God I know

Trying to silence the world

Letting go

And when tears come,

as they quite often do

I know it’s my spirit resetting

Holding onto You

So go with me this day

Through the miles that I travel on

Hear me,

As I pray

My hope belongs

to You.
