The Winds That Carry
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”
James 2:19 NIV
Even the demons believe
And shudder at the thought
Of all the winds that carry
Each moment we have sought
God amongst the chaos
When we’re lonely and can’t see
The Earth may not see his presence
But when we earnestly believe
We hurl missiles at the devil
By the power of the blood
We regain our footing,
As he shows us his love
Let his love rain down
Let us open up our eyes
For all that he has done
Whether scene or in disguise
We know a beautiful secret
One we should share
That in the moments we are hurting
He is infinitely aware
And doesn’t run from our iniquities
He holds tight when we can’t stand
When our souls seem to be burning
He calls the winds at his command
To give us peace
To ease our doubts
As we fall down to our knees
Trying to sort it all out
But we can’t
We just have to believe
And shudder in the presence
of a God who breathes
His life into us
