Only God knows the melody

That plays within your heart

He alone hears the simple truths

That keep you where you are


He listens with ears of heaven

Knowing the pain you’re going through

He knows the joy, the sadness

He’s the only one who really knows you


Inside

In those places

You hide 


He knows when you’re weary

When days have been oh, so rough

He sits there, when you’re teary

Shielding you when you’ve had enough


He waits, always hopeful

For the times you seek his face

And even when you turn away

He knows the heart that he alone can save


Inside

In those places

You hide


Only God has the answer

To those questions 

You just have to ask

Knowing that in the asking

You’re seeking 

Finding the path


Inside

In that place

Where He longs to reside


And when you find that moment

When it’s only God you seek

Realize he’s always been there

Always ready to love you
