Take in Each Sip

What if in the silence

Before we face the world

We sat there with the maker

Took those moments and asked,

“Dear Lord…

Will you carry me through the hard times?

Will you show me more of your joy?

Will you let my heart beat freely?

As I work,

Help me find you more

Take the fear that often snares me

Cut away that bitter seed

Open up this vessel

In each breath, let me believe

More of your message, more of your truths

And when I can’t see you

Lord,

Let Your spirit be the proof

In breath in my lungs

Wind across my lips

Skies that paint majestic

As I take in each sip

of You.”
