We’ve Seen Him

 “We’ve just seen Him”

They shouted above their tears

The men still doubted

Still overrun by recent fears

They didn’t forget the promise

Though they went to anoint the dead

Bringing spices and coverings

Unable to realize all he said

Was true, 

in those moments

His voice alone proved


“It is I

Do you not believe?

I told you I’d rise again

Here I am

Can’t you see

I wasn’t meant 

To be adorned in a tomb

I came to bring life

And I gave my life for you”


They knelt down

Trembling at the sight

This vision

The risen Savior

Right before their eyes 


Magical morning

Heavens prophesied Glory

Three days waiting 

Two thousand years have past

What’s keeping you

From seeing Him at last


The tomb couldn’t hold

The world could not contain

Three days later

And today we still proclaim


“We’ve seen Him!”

As he opens up broken eyes
