What a child sees

I wonder what a child sees

When they first wake upon the world

Is it like when we’ll see heaven?

Like a kaleidoscope as it swirls

Slowly finding focus

Maybe that’s how we find God

His light more than we can handle

The radiance of His love

Eyes adjust to the splendor

Unable to fathom how beautiful it can be

We live here, in our sin

Often just struggling to believe

But like a child comes quickly

When prompted by his love

Maybe we can open up more

To all he was thinking of

As he created the planets, he created the stars

Yet, they were deemed second place

When he says “I made you in my image”

And gave us the gift of grace

As he called the children

He also calls you and me

Touched us with his spirit

Gave us breath

Life

and His Peace.
