Thirsty
Thirsty
While drowning
Can’t fill the emptiness
What matters?
Alone
Amidst the crowd
Silence
While screaming aloud
Where do I run?
Where do I hide?
When this world
Seems so scary outside
Fear
Though I stand as if strong
Not sure
Where I belong
Until I lost
All that I was
And the Spirit
Spoke to these bones
“Get up
Take up your mat
It’s time to surrender
Right where you’re at”
Where do I run?
Where do I hide?
To the hope
I find inside
This heart.

“Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ ””
John 7:37-38 NASB1995
