Open eyes

Open your eyes And see More than Running Past your dreams Find a place To be still For just a little while Take your fill Of oxygen In your lungs Hold it for a moment Let it stay For just a moment Let those windows Open wide When you find places You can hide And share a little Or a lot Find refuge From all you’ve fought For just a little while Be still Breathe in Take your fill Hold it for a moment Let it stay For just a moment More… 10/28/25 clc

My Melancholia

My melancholia Comes without warning Touch of grey Amidst the gloom Nothing to share Just a light sadness Wanting sunlight But there is none there I am aware Light comes in morning Just gotta hope Tomorrow Will bring A sliver of light  To the sadness inside And there will be joy Even if grey skies remain I’ve known this enough To know they fade Away. 10/27/25 clc

Mellifluous

Image
Sweet singing Echoes through my ears Amidst the colors of the cosmos  Ringing clear As Rain falls On a gloomy day Inside a melody Finds its way To my soul Reminding me Of the hope I won’t let go Deeper well That holds the essence Of my truth Springs forth  when I’m not able To move Letting me linger In my hope And be renewed  Sweet singing A chorus only I can hear Reminds me I am not alone I let go of the fear… <breathe > 10/27/25 clc mel·lif·lu·ous /məˈlifləwəs/ adjective (of a voice or words) sweet or musical; pleasant to hear.

Tender Mercies

Flow like Heaven Upon the earth Those breaths That find us  Show us we’re worth More than the bustle We stop and see More of the mercies And this, I sing  A song Lilting on the cool autumn wind Reminding me I’m not alone I always can depend On the truth Deep in my heart That is where  Those mercies  Find their start And when the madness Tries to hide the light I can always  Look deeper inside Those tender mercies Bring solace And warm the heart inside Those tender mercies I carry deep inside. 10/24/25 clc “Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which the Sunrise from on high will visit us, To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”” Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭78‬-‭79‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

May the morning

May the morning bring you peace As you rise from deepest sleep Let each moment before your eyes Come with hope as you realize  You are made  to be alive Reach out Touch the lives  around you And smile 10/23/25 clc “The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.’” ‭‭ Numbers‬ ‭6‬:‭24‬-‭26‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

One more sunrise

Dark clouds linger Inside darker hearts Not knowing how To make them part Outwardly everything seems okay  But that’s how we hide  When there’s so much hurting  Going on inside  We don’t want you to know  That inside  Fear and heartache grows  To monumental proportions  At least within our heads  And most days  Alive seems much harder than dead  And yes, that’s a lie  We tell ourselves  But we don’t know any better  Without the help  That comes in a whisper  That comes in a voice  Maybe someone really cares  And delays our choice  Because we don’t want to be here  We don’t want to keep this pain  We just want it to go away  Please, go away  And until peace finds purchase  Until hope becomes a thread  You who surround us  Keep us here,  And out of our heads So keep on caring Even when it hurts For though we struggle We are still worth More than we know Mo...
